Durga Puja & Muharram Peace Committee meeting

24.09.2016, Darbhanga: In the wake of upcoming festivals of Durga Puja & Muharram, peace committee meeting was held under Dr. Chandrasekhar Singh, DM at Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar auditorium.

Participating members from Puja Samiti and Muharram Samiti put their suggestion forward and discussed the issues with district officials. Dr. Chandrasekhar Singh said that district administration is taking all the necessary steps to provide better facilities during festivals and ensure peace and harmony.

In the meeting he directed electricity department officials to replace defective lights and also repair electric wires where required to avoid any accident. He also directed Nagar Nigam officials to repair/rectify public utilities to provide better facilities to people during festive season.

He said that a district level control room will be setup which will work 24 hours and would monitor the situation. Electric department and Nagar Nigam officials will also be available in case of any emergency.

He further said that for any kind of Pandals or procession, license will be required from district administration. A zero tolerance policy will be followed against anyone who will try to disturb social harmony and peace.

Satyaveer Singh, SSP said that peace committee members would be issues ID cards by Police Station Officer and Peace Committee president. CCTV cameras will be installed at all major junctions and control room will monitor the activities continuously.
