Huge cache of Liquor seized by Darbhanga Police

17.12.2016: On one hand where government law enforcing agencies are trying their best to stop illegal sell of liquor, on the other hand new ways are invented by liquor mafias to smuggle liquor in the state. In a similar incident, Darbhanga police seized a huge cache of Liquor from what seems to be like a bank cash van, marked with bank logo and Government of India written on it.

Dilnawaz Ahmad, SDPO Sadar speaking to the media said that police received a tip off that people involved with Liquor smuggling will be bringing the liquor from Haryana using bank cash van.

Acting on the input received from technical surveillance and other information, Darbhanga police team intercepted the van in Benta OP area and recovered huge cache of illegal liquor from the van. Before breaking the lock police called the local bank manager as the van was marked as bank cash van and had bank logo on it.

As per the information shared by police, one resident of Bahadurpur and other resident of Pandasarai has been arrested. Police are conducting raids to find other two who managed to escape and are also investigating about the van.

The question remains to be answered as to how the van managed to escape all the checks on the borders and managed to reach Darbhanga from Haryana.
