High Class Education and research facility at LNMU is our aim- Surendra K Sigh, VC


23.12.2017(Darbhanga): Addressing the Senate meeting at Lalit Narayan Mithila University Vice Chancellor Prof. Surendra Kumar Singh said that ensuring facilities and environment for high class studies and research work is the key to make Lalit Narayan Mithila University world class.

Thanking to staff members and colleagues he said that the kind of support and feedback he has got from them in his brief stint of 9 months is heart warming and appreciable. He said that the University has great history and will always be grateful to Late King Kameshwar Singh for his support and vision in establishing LNMU.

Discussing about the budget for the year 2018-19 he said that though it's a deficit budget but we have taken steps to minimize the deficit and increase the income. He further said that there will be decrease in the examinations expenditure and increase in LNMU property related income. The steps taken would further result into decreasing the overall deficit.

He said that we have successfully depute 150 teachers in different colleges and though there is still shortage of resources, we all are working hard to maintain the education level and proper functioning of University. The situation is particularly demanding due to increase in number of students and new programmes being introduced in University curriculum.

New programs including Social Work, Women studies, Media, Telecommunication, Journalism, Water resource management, Naturopathy, Mithila Lok culture and Mihila painting is being focussed and developed. He mentioned that after 44 years of establishment, the courses related to Mithila Painting and culture is being introduced in university.

I feel proud to say that LNMU is ahead of other universities in the state in getting NAAC grade and it's 28 colleges and 4 affiliated colleges has successfully got the grades. The work is going on for another 15 colleges and grades will be achieved soon. C.M Science college has definitely added a feather in the cap and had made the University proud by achieving A grade. LNMU has received NAAC B grade with CGPA 2.46 which is higher in comparison to other universities in state.

Meeting was conducted under University registrar Dr. Mustafa Kamal Ansari. Legislative Councilor Vijay Kumar Mishr, Sunil Singh, BJP MLA Sanjay Sarawagi and other members were present at the meeting.
