Gram Kachahari an effective legal tool

30.05.2022(Darbhanga): Gram Kachahari is a legal framework with potential of providing resolutions to variety of disputes at Village Level, said Javed Alam, Secretary DLSA. Emphasizing on the ease of getting resolution in Gram Kachahari, he said that today mostly people have to travel to district courts to get the hearing at District courts however, for minor disputes, the legal framework at village level call Gram Kachahari is fully equipped to provide justice via settlement process agreeable to both party.

He also outlined that the Village Kachahari has its legal jurisdiction and power clearly defined and if used effectively can offload quite some workload from District courts which are already under pressure due to huge number of pending cases. Speaking further on the topic, he said that the verdict out of Gram Kachahari can be appealed in District court if either of the contestant party is not satisfied.

He also mentioned that District Legal Service Authority is there to assist people who need legal service without any charge.
