NGOs playing important role in nation building - Prof Surendra Kumar Singh


23.07.2017(Darbhanga): Addressing a seminar on "Role of NGOs in Nation building", Prof Surendra Kumar Singh (VC Lalit Narayan Mithila University) said that such organizations has important role in building nation through helping and promoting talent in the field of education.

The seminar was organized at Nagender Jha Mahila College on the occassion of 11th establishment day of Dr. Prabhat Das Foundation.

Stressing the need of encouraging the talented students from all class of society, he said that Dr. Prabhat Das Foundation work in this field is commendable. He said that the talent is key to the better nation building and Dr. Prabhat Das Foundation is not only working in the field of higher education but also working for betterment of primary education. He said that the LNMU NSS unit will work with foundation for the implementation of student development schemes.

Renowned scientist Manas Bihari Verma spoke about the dream of APJ Kalam and said that the nation will realize its true potential only when talents from the remote and rural areas will get a chance to compete and contribute for nation building. Appreciating the work done by Dr. Prabhat Das Foundation he said, that the development schemes are providing platform and opportunity to the needy students.

Mukesh Kumar Jha, Secretary Dr. Prabhat Das Foundation said that the society has changes a lot and with changing times the role of such NGO has become more relevant and essential in social welfare and nation building.

A talent event was organized at district level and students from various schools participated in the competition. Pranjali Aditi from Madonna English School got first place, Ankit Pathak from Jesus and Marry got second place and Aman Chaudhay from Rose Public School secured third place in the competition.

Dr. Prabhat Das Foundation is working in social welfare field since 2006. The Foundation has been working mainly in Darbhanga, Samashtipur, Muzzafarpur, Sitamarhi, Madhubani and adjusent areas in Nepal.
