DLSA Darbhanga Reviews Preparations for Upcoming National Lok Adalat; Focuses on Gram Kachhari Disputes

Darbhanga, Aug 01, 2026: In preparation for the upcoming National Lok Adalat scheduled for September 12, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Darbhanga Secretary Aarti Kumari convened a meeting with Block Panchayati Raj Officers (BPROs) to streamline the resolution of compoundable cases pending in Gram Kacharis.

Speaking at the meeting, Secretary Aarti Kumari stated that the year's third National Lok Adalat is being organized in accordance with directives from the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) and the Bihar State Legal Services Authority (BSLSA). The event aims to settle all categories of compoundable disputes through mutual agreement and conciliation.

Acknowledging the contribution of local bodies, she noted that Gram Kacharis have consistently played a commendable role in the success of past Lok Adalats. She instructed officials to make special preparations for the September 12 event, identify eligible cases, and compile a comprehensive list. Officers were further advised to coordinate with Gram Kachhari representatives in their respective panchayats to finalize case selections and serve timely notices to the parties involved.

Additionally, the DLSA Secretary highlighted that, under the direction of Principal District and Sessions Judge-cum-DLSA Chairman Ajay Kumar Sharma, a Community Mediation Drive is being conducted in select panchayats to foster dispute-free villages. She called upon officials to actively raise public awareness regarding this initiative.

All Block Panchayati Raj Officers of the district were present at the meeting.
