Darbhanga police succeeded in busting the bike theft gang operating across India Nepal border. Police managed to arrest five accused and recovered four stolen bikes and mobile phones from them.
Due to increases incident of motorcycle theft in recent times a separate police team was formed under SDPO Dilnawaz Ahmed to speed up the investigation and catch the criminals. Acting on the information that the some people are chasing the robbers near Maharani Pokhar, police sieged the area and arrested one from Delhi Mod while two other accused managed to escape. Police also recovered a stolen bike from the arrested accused.
Based on the information provided by arrested Gopal, police team then conducted raid in Nirmali ward number 12 and arrested two other accused Suman and Sravan. Acting on the information provided by the arrested accused police lead the trap and arrested Ashok Prasad, resident of Kanhauli Police Station Area and another accused resident of Sonwarsha (Sitamarhi). As per the information the stolen bikes were finally sold to the criminals operating from other side of the border and stolen bikes were sent to Nepal.
SSP Satyaveer Singh said that the police will continue its operation against bike theft gang.
