Darbhanga police today started drive against traffic violations and to increase traffic awareness among the people. In a symbolic march to kick start the drive a police team under the supervision of senior officials today marched from city SP office to Darbhanga Tower.
On the way the police team challaned some traffic violators and made them aware about the traffic rules and safety. The team under the supervision of city SP Harkishore Rai and SDPO Dilnawaz Ahmed did this exercise to create awareness about traffic discipline and road safety by distributing information pamphlets and speaking to auto/rickshaw drivers on the road.
During the vehicle check police seized 94 bottle of illegal desi wine and arrested one person in connection. In another incident police nabbed a person with 2 kg of ganja and a motorcycle without number plate from Bahera Police Station area.
Participating Police Stations were University P.S., Laheriasarai P.S, Sadar P.S., Town P.S., Beta O.P. and Bahadurpur P.S.
It is indeed a commendable exercise on a hot and humid day by Darbhanga police team and reminded the people of Darbhanga about the similar drives been undertaken by former SSP Manu Maharaj.
